Update on continuous gasifier R&D progress

In the 4th quarter of 2016, CCS continues to Research and Development new concepts of continuous gasification technology, and start testing first stove samples for community-based projects.

After initial research on continuous gasification technology has achieved encouraging results, CCS has yielded valuable experience for further research in this fourth quarter. Five continous gasification stove samples has been made in the laboratory, and the 5th sample is highly expected from researchers of the organization:

  • Testing the continuous gasification stoves in 2 hours.
  • Supplying fuel continuously in cycles, each cycle allows stove to operate for 15 minutes;
  • Easily starting the stove: gas is generated within 1 minute.
  • Reaction zone is concentrated, for easy insulation of heart zone and gas concentration, which creates the optimal reaction conditions for gas generating;
  • Gas quality is very good (better than the batch stoves) with high combustion quality: clean fire, high temperature;

Such findings provides many opportunities for making larger and more practical devices to serve the needs of people and industry, such as: continuous gasification stove for restaurants, eateries and farming families in rural areas, boiler and dryer types for SMEs with renewable energy tendency, reducing energy costs, improving the working environment.

Besides the new study, CCS has also implemented comunity-based projects for gasification stove. 5 new gasification stoves are created to introduce and transfer to the beneficiaries in the experimental phase of project in EAP in Gia Lam, Hanoi.
